Using svn API and authentication

I have been struggling with this for a few days trying to use the SVN
API to access my server from a Windows machine. I have the doc's for
the API since they are well defined in the header files. As always
the problem is where to start? I started with the examples in the
tools folder but they are very simple. I finally figured out some. I
can now read my local repo and display the commit comments (I'm using
VisualSVN on my local machine with a test repo). I will be getting a
begin date, end date and project as inputs and I need to save the
comments as the seed of the release build notes.

So far so good. I now need to go out over the network using SSL. Can
someone point me to some sample code on how to do the authentication?
As expected, my first attempt failed since I do NO authentication. I
got an unexpected error message indicating that I may have a library
version mismatch which might be true, I'll have to wait until Monday
to find out about library versions.

TIA

Marty
