SVN Internationalization

Hi,

Some of our clients are in japan and china. Sometimes they send
files to us that they are having a problem with. Sometimes these files
are wrapped in a winzip or winrar archive and include a partial
directory structure. When we check these files we extract them on a
Chinese or Japanese system as required, creating subdirectories and
files that may have Chinese or Japanese characters in the name.
Currently, we usually add the zip or .rar files to source control.

What limitations does SVN have regarding the names of the
directories and files in the repository? The QA folks were wondering if
they could add objects to SVN directly from the Japanese or Chinese
windoze machines.
My initial response was that the path names and file names have
to use characters that are XML 1.0 compliant. Is this correct?

        Thanx

KAshley
