Eclipse-SVN-Clearcase integration

Ran into issues trying to integrate Eclipse 3.2.1(tried both plugins - Subclipse and Subversive)
with a local copy already checked out from svn(uses tortoise-svn). The plugins just would not recognise
the source as svn.Though it seemed to work perfectly ok when the code was checked out via the plugin
(I dont want this option because the code is checked into the current workspace). I checked online and
all the docs seem to advise checkout only via the eclipse plugin.

I need functionality where in the source for an Eclipse java project can be linked to a source location.
Since we are doing a phased migration a part of the codebase still resides on clearcase, which I access
via a snapshot view. Is it possible to have say a Javaproject having source folders from different source
control systems? Anybody with any experiences using multiple source controls for the same project?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Naresh Shetty.
