I don't know the answer to this. Someone smarter than me would have to
answer. But if you have space for a test repository, and if you have a
complete dump, I think you could experiment and find out.

I also found the instructions a little ambiguous when I tried to use it. It
might help if you could explain what "the result wasn't pretty" means in
more detail. If there's a specific problem, maybe folks on the list could
help you.
