Edit Pipelining Error

I am getting an error from the Subversion server (svn 1.3.2) when I try
to connect with my client. The error is -> "svn: edit pipelining
support in client is required"

My version of the client should be compatible with this version of the
server. Can someone please explain what this error actually means and
if there is a possible solution?
