For the developers, ensure that their virus scanner doesn't
excessively scan the working copy (at the least ignoring .svn content,
at best ignore the whole working copy) and as already noted don't
allow windows to index these files.

For CVS and Subversion I'd expect both of these changes to pay
dividends in Windows file-system performance (well as much as the
windows file-system has to offer anyway).
