Ahem, Phil, from where to where are you exactly moving? Point is, 1.4 is the
current version and moving from the future 1.42 to 1.4 would be downgrading.
Also, assuming typos, moving from 1.4.2 to 1.4.0 would be downgrading, too.

Anyhow, I guess you mean some kind of upgrade from an older version. Normally,
those upgrades are painless, especially on a mainstream OS like FC. However,
if you use BDB as backend, upgrading to a newer version might make a
dump/load cycle necessary. Read the release notes before upgrading and make a
backup, just in case.

I read that you did some kind of upgrade and are now getting segmentation
faults from svnadmin. This is impossible to diagnose without much more info,
in particular where you got the binaries from, which version exactly they are
etc.
