Re: Subversion vs CVS for document files

I uses SourceOffSite extensively, and found serious problems with it. Any
attempt to check out a large directory tree would result in the checkout
hanging part way through. Sometimes this would hang up the SourceOffSite
server so it accepted no further connections. At other times it was
possible to recover without rebooting the server, but the only way to get a
large tree was to get one or two directories at a time.

The SourceOffSite people were very helpful, but it seemed that the problem
was in VSS itself (they use the COM interface to it). Replacing a VSS DLL
with a different version helped a bit, but the problem never went away.
