I couldn't help noticing a flood of mails all relating to this topic
(originating from you :-)

Have you ever considered doing a pilot with Subversion for one
project, to make sure your partner gets the fuzzy Subversion feeling
from his own experience (or he really hates it afterwards but then
it'll be easier to move off Subversion since you only have 1 project
in it...)
