Hehehe... I know how that goes! I was deployed to Iraq with the National
Guard in 2003, and the Linux box at my house which serves as our
router/gateway/fileserver/local mail server locked up. I had to talk my
very non-technical wife back home through the process of rebooting it,
logging in as root, and parsing the log files so I could figure out what
had happened, all over a DSN line with about a 3-second delay. Turns out
one of my "modded" MP CPUs decided to quit working (I know, that's what
I get for trying to be cheap) and I had to have her remove the
CPU/heatsink/fan so it could run on just the one good one (and you know
how hard those Athlons are to remove even for someone who knows what
they're doing!) Not much fun at all. :)
