Folks,

I realize that the commercial products in this case are much more
expensive and not necessarily better for many applications. We have a
couple of commercial products at my job, but I just finished some
subversion installs. We're on the same page technically.

The posts I made reflect my impression that some people on the list seemed
to resent their boss asking them to justify using subversion instead of
another product. IMO the boss is just doing his job. It's our role as
technical people to give management the information that will give them
"warm fuzzies" about our recommendations. Expecting management to follow
the recommendations of the technical folks blindly is unrealistic. Truly
technically excellent people should be able to boil down the detail into
something the non-technical can get their minds around.
