What version of the VC++ compiler is 1.4 built with?

Firstly, whomever was behind the effort to bring svnsync into the latest
release... A BIG PHAT THANKYOU! :)

That said, given this is my first post to this list, A BIG PHAT THANKYOU to
each of you have built such a wonderful product. I can't imagine my
development life without it.

With that, I noticed that there are now Python 2.4 bindings for Windows. If
not mistaken (and I could easily be mistaken) the reasoning behind not
having them until now had something to do with the default choice of VC++
compiler, and the solution was to change the default from VC6 to VC8.

Is there a connection between the two?
