Can the repository became corrupted?

Hello,

Maybe I've made a mistake. I copied an backuped version of the
repository, and made a commit to this repo.
I am not sure whether the copied repo was the last which I should use
to commit the changes. So the question is:
Can the subverion recognize if I made a mistake like this?
I made an experiment with other versions and got checksum errors.
But it does not mean that all the stupidities will be recognized by
subverison.
How can I assure myself that my repo is OK?

Thanks: Peter
