Well, no it'd break stuff. Even in Win XP you can still pipe something to
PRN and it will print.

Compatibility is one of Windows' greates advantages and its bane...

The choice of COMx, PRN etc. was braindead, as Scott mentioned, and now
they're stuck with it... Maybe Vista will find a way to work around it?
