I'm confused--you say that the changes aren't written to the repository,
but if you check out from the repository, you get the changes? That's
not really feasible--either the changes make it to the repository or
not. I suspect we're dealing with a terminology issue. (ie., what's
the difference between the repository and the main server?)

Could you give an example of what you do, what you expect to happen, and
what you see happening, complete with the actual commands you run at
each step?
