How to manage merging after moving files to different directories?

HI!

We will have to move lots of files in our trunk source tree to different sub
directories in the near future (converting from Visual Studio 2003 to 2005).

We intend to make Subversion aware of the move by moving those files also in
the repository, so that the log for those files will work as expected.

But what about merging changes from our trunk to the latest release of our
software, which still has the old file structure? Subversion merge will not
find the files there, I suppose.

Is there some recipe on how to manage such a situation?

Thanks!

Thomas
