Admittedly, this was the reason I never ever used svn: protocol. However,
svn+ssh works fine, I use ssh anyway, so I think that there is no big problem
indeed. Sites that need good security can use ssh+certificates+ssh-agent, for
optimal security/convenience ratio, IMHO.
