The reason that I characterized the lack of such a feature as resistance
is that there has been many discussions over many years, with no
results. Can you explain to me why it is so difficult to implement?
Maybe we can 'collaborate' on a solution together.

I was under the impression that there exists at least a small group of
developers that were devoting their time to enhancing Subversion based
on the desires of the user community. But I guess...
