Missing .subversion and config-dir argument

From: Josh Moore <josh.moore_at_gmx.de>

Just tried to run subversion on a box where my nfs-mounted home was
having issues. The error I got was:

svn: Can't check path '/homes/jmoore/.subversion': Stale NFS file handle

"Ok", I thought, I'll use an alternative home directory. To see how to
tell subversion about this, I ran "svn help". What was the error message:

svn: Can't check path '/homes/jmoore/.subversion': Stale NFS file handle

I'd suggest either 1) making help available when .subversion is missing
or 2) at least mentioning config-dir in the error message. Ok, to add a
feature request?

Best wishes,
  Josh.
