I was looking at a working copy of

     http://svn.red-bean.com/svnbook/trunk/src/en/book/ch09.xml

which has it.

Turns out it was added on 2005-05-06.

svn diff -r 1267:1268 \
   http://svn.red-bean.com/svnbook/trunk/src/en/book/ch09.xml

So there you go, it's getting even more documented :)
