berkley db files 4.2 -> 4.3

hi,

I know this sounds like an FAQ. I've updated a suse box from 9.2 to 9.3. With
the update subversion and berkley db has been updated. Updated means the old
version is gone and the new version is there.
The new version does not work because of berkley db version has bumped from 4.2
to 4.3. I don't have access to older berkley db version. Still I need to get the
repository back.
I've found several references to dump/load on the web, but that sound like the
dump operation is to be performed with the old version of the dump command. How
to do that if you don't have the old version. So this is the wrong way.

On the other hand db_update sound like the solution.

Unfortunately this seems to do nothing. No message, no files changed after
running it on a copy.

Any ideas?

Please try to resolv this issue for one and all. There needs to be a detailed
FAQ how to get this back working or shall we all go back to CVS where this never
was an issue?

Many thanks in advance.

Stefan
