"svn up" hangs (or just takes an awful amount of time?)

Hello,

I had a very old checkout of subversion in my computer (from collab.net, via
svnserve). I wanted to update it to a fresh 1.2.x checkout through "svn switch"
but the operation failed after a while (and I had to kill the proces because it
was not responding to CTRL+C). I ended up with a repository which is somehow
damaged: "svn up" takes forever, and does not respond to CTRL+C either.

I am in the process of uploading the broken repository here:
http://farfetch.intrepid.cx/subversion-1.2-broken.tar.bz2 (9.8M). Is this a
known bug? Should I open an issue in the tracker?

I am reproducing this under Linux RedHat FC3, using a subversion 1.2 RC2 client
(compiled by myself from a brand new checkout which does not show this
behaviour of course).
