That path (/root/local/) is pretty unusual, I'd say. Did you setup you runtime
linker so shared libraries are properly found?

A lack of above configuration doesn't lead to an install failure, but only
prints a warning that this still has to be done, so the absence of an error
doesn't mean it is properly installed.
