You seem to come from different sotware culture ;)

On linux, Gentoo flavour, there is no need for binaries.

You do 'emerge subversion' and get it compiled from the source :).

I would not take binaries even if they existed.

So suggestion to build from source is not that bizarre as it may seem. Rather,
the demand for binaries may seem strange...

If someone is interested, I can post private my .ebuild for the text-time
branch.
