Berkeley db4 not found error with 1.1.3 and BerkelyDB 4.2

Hi

I am building Subversion from Source taraball on a Redhat Linux 2.1AS. I have followed the direction and compiled and installed the Berkeley DB 4.2.52; I am not building Apache.

When I run "./configure --with-berkeley-db=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2 --with-dbm=db42", it prints this error :

configure: error: Berkeley db4 not found
configure failed for apr-util

The subversion-1.1.3\apr-util\configure util seems to already contain the 4.2 detection code , so I have not applied the patch mentioned in the FAQ. I see sections in configure that mention db42 -- so I am assuming this version of configure does not need to be patched. If it need to be patched, can someone show me how -- what to copy where (as I am still learning shell programming)?

How can I fix this ? I will deeply appreciate any help.

Regards
