Subversion only does version control. If you wanted to use it for iSeries
development you will still need something else to compile and install your
changes. iSeries version control products are fairly unique in that
aspect. A version control tool in the Unix/Windows world would not
typically do those sorts of things, and even if you had one that did, it
would never do it for the iSeries.

If you still wanted to use Subversion for your iSeries development, you
would also have to store your source code in the IFS as there would be no
way to use Subversion with OS/400 source files.
