I saw that. However, my xinetd.d entry, svn, already include the `-i'
option.

Does my machine need to be running a name server?

Actually, I searched the mailing list archives first; that didn't turn
up anything helpful.

The Google search was similarly unhelpful, since the answers to this
problem seemed to be relevant for much older releases.
