OK, got in now:

1. run 'cpan'
After asking hundreds of questions which have Working Defaults For Me(tm), you
get a shell where you just type 'install URI'.

2. svn_load_dirs now presents you with the problem that is can't run
'/usr/bin/svn'. I simply changed this to '/usr/lib/subversion/bin/svn.exe'.
Not sure if it really needs the '.exe', but it Works For Me(tm).
