Configuring Subversion on Debian

Hi all,

May I know the following things please?

After Installing the Subversion package for Debian from the link
mentioned in the Subversion homepage What configurations should I make
to get it working?

Is there a tutorial available somewhere in the net as a step by step
to get Subversion Installed and working on debian?

My clients will be mostly using Quanta on Linux or some other IDE on
Win2k Professional mostly to develop on PHP.

What client to subversion will you recommend it that situation?

Is there some other better free editor/editors available either for
Linux or for Windows for development in PHP?
