If you want to contribute translations, there are two ways you can help:

 1) Start a book translation
 2) Translate Subversion output messages to Italian.

The second project has been started already; see
http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2002. There is some
documentation about maintaining these po translations. You can find it at
http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/TRANSLATING.

If you want to start a book translation, your efforts are very welcome too.
However in both cases, we'd like you to find fellow italians who want to
help you. It's a huge job (especially the book).

Others have started translation teams (there is no such group for Italian
yet) and work on their translation directly in the Subversion repository.
The project requires several maintainers before giving out commit access in
order to reduce the chances of the translation becomming defunct.
Translation teams can be given their own mailing list to discuss their work
in their own language.

To other Italians: Now's the right time to step forward and donate some
time/effort back to the project! :-)

Hope you can help!

bye,

Erik.
