Yes, exactly. The make doesn't take long at all, and I want them to
know the result right away. The hook runs if their commit included an
XML file that gets processed right away to generate/update our
/etc/hosts, dns zones and dhcp server.

A 'make verify' runs first which determines if it's valid XML; if it
isn't they need to know that they've messed up and that the appropriate
servers will not be updated.
