The binaries for Subversion on www.sunfreeware.com are not compiled with
SSL enabled.

See the following note in the "installation steps" under the Subversion
distribution: "For those of you who want to know, subversion was
compiled with just the default ./configure, make, make install steps.
All the make check steps passed."

I have tried without success to get Subversion on Solaris 8 with SSL
enabled to work.
