Using svn to sync to revision mp3 music collection (binary) result is double the storage

Hello,

As the svn book suggests, you could use svn to revision your mp3 files.
This should also work to sync your files between computers, which is my
ultimate goal.

The problem is, when I checkout all my music, you endup with double the
storage space due to the 'prisitne' files. This is no good with 60gigs of
music.
What is a workaround for this? Can the pristine files be turned off?

Thanks,
Steve
