accessing a single file from svnserve

hi...

i'm playing around with the svnserve/tortisesvn client. i need to know how
to access a single directory/file from the repository.

in looking through the docs, i can see how to get everything from the
repository, but not how to easily access a subset of a repository....

also, if i do a checkout, how can i reverse/undo the checkout action. as an
example, if i checkout a wrong directory, how can i undo the checkout, or
does it matter..???

i can't simply check the directory back in, as i haven't made any changes to
the files... is there an 'undo/forget' command..??

thanks

-bruce
