Thank you for this reply too. I realize I'm trying to do something that
is not typical.

The easiest for me is to just use a working copy behind the scenes, and
then do an svn update whenever that is appropriate. That makes it
possible for me to just use the svn command line client as-is with no
additional installation requirements.

Also, frankly, my focus and interest really is in the web interface, not
the svn internals.

I just wanted to be absolutely certain that in fact this is the most
prudent approach. Now I know that I'll be doing "the right thing", using
a working copy, and that there simply isn't a better approach. I just
had to make sure, before I went ahead. It's not that the working copy is
all that much of a hassle anyway - it is "conceptually weird -
practically easiest".
