LOCALE Build Error

Hello all,

I'm building version 1.1.0-RC2 on Mac OS X and I've managed to get to
the make install step.

however I get this error after doing 'make install':

svnversion: error: cannot set LC_ALL locale
svnversion: error: environment variable LANG is en_US
svnversion: error: please check that your locale name is correct
make: *** [revision-install] Error 1

I'm not totally clear on the problem, why does subversion need these
particular environment variables set? What are the correct settings and
how do I do it?
