I know of no theoretical limit to dump file size. I have a 48GB (That's
*giga*byte) dumpfile here, and I had no problem dumping to it, and no
problem loading it.

Could you give us some more information about what is happening? Maybe
paste in what your terminal is showing you... information about your
repository, OS version, etc.
