90% of those are permissions problems. If you just set things up as
described in the book, and don't do file:// access, you'll be fine.

No one can say for sure yet, but I think there is some momentum toward
making fsfs the default at some point in the relatively near future.

I can't answer whether you will sleep better. But if you test it now,
future users will be able to sleep better.
