Changing name of .svn directory?

Howdy All,

Is it possible to change the name of the .svn directory (to something
not hidden, like SVN)? Is there an option to do this? We are using
some software (Apple's EOModeler) that doesn't work that well with the
hidden .svn directory. Of course, this would probably need to be a
global change ...
