Installation Clarification

Hi All,

I'm trying to set up a Subversion system for my development group to use,
and have a couple of questions on the installation process that I can't seem
to find answers to. These are probably pretty basic questions, but I could
really use some clarification. Here's what I've got so far :

        RedHat 9 Linux
        Apache 2.0.50 w/ mod_dav statically linked
        mod_jk connector
        Tomcat 5.0.27
        Berkeley DB 4.2

So far everything *appears* to be working correctly. My questions now are:

        1. Do I really need to install the .rpm's for apr and apr-util?
Especially since I've got Apache 2 up and running, I don't think I want to
mix in a (potentially) different apr....
        2. What the heck is neon, and what does it do for me?
        3. Given the above environment, I think all I really need is
Subversion and the Subversion-server rpm's. Maybe neon. Am I even close?

Thanks!
