The issue is that AIX just isn't used much, period. It looks to me like
95% of users are running Subversion servers on either Win32 or Linux,
because those are simply the most popular server platforms in general.

AIX is no 'less supported' than any other Unix; the whole autoconf
system is designed for all Unix platforms. The source should compile
and run just as well on AIX as on any other Unix. The only reason you
don't see AIX binary packages is because AIX is so rare... we have no
volunteers with AIX machines.

So if your group must have binaries to use software, AIX is not a good
choice. But that doesn't mean AIX won't work well.
