Well, that didn't fix my problem, but my real problem is that I'm
slightly dumb and careless.

My Berkeley installation had doc & include dirs in
/home/rguthr/src/Berkeley42.
The bin and lib dirs where in /home/rguthr/src/svn/Berkeley42. I'm
betting that's what's wrong.

I have no idea how I screwed that up, but I'm in the process of fixing
it now. From that point, I'll have to start all over with my
assumptions about what's right/wrong.

Sorry to waste everyone's time so far. Hopefully, you'll only hear
back about how the problem existed between chair and keyboard.
