RE: How many folks run SVN on Windows Servers?

We run on Windows as well. Works great!

Only nits we have with a server on Windows is:
1) It would be nice is svnserv was a proper Windows service.
2) With Apache you can connect your authentication ActiveDirectory which
is very cool. However, you can't connect it to ActiveDirectory using
svnserv. :(
3) Also the permissions' group concept does not understand
ActiveDirectory "groups" which is unfortunate.

I know the Subversion creators envisioned Subversion is a nice
replacement for CVS. However, it is also a great replacement for VSS!
If future versions of Subversion better supported transitioning folks
from VSS I would guess there would soon be more folks running on Windows
than *NIX.

Subject: How many folks run SVN on Windows Servers?

Hi all,

I was wondering how many folks run Subversion on Windows servers
VS *NIX.

I am in the process of trying to convince folks here that we
need an RCS, this is a bit of a reach for most folks here though. I
don't want to suggest SubVersion, only to find the Windows user
community of SubVersion disappear.

Also, have any other Windows users used the resource kit tools
instead of FireDaemon? I was able to figure out how to do it, and will
be happy to share if there's desire.

TIA

        Kevin
