PROPFIND request failed on branch check-out

Hi,
I recently set up a Subversion server (Apache DAV) for testing.
Unfortunately on Windows XP ;-( Everything works fine so far.
I've imported a first test-project structure and working with
the Subclipse plugin (and other SVN clients) seems ok.

But I ran into problems when trying to create a branch. Well the
branching actually seems to be alright but when checking-out a
subtree of the branch I get an error message, check-out of the whole
branch works fine, though:

cat -r 8
http://developerdb02/repos/FIT/branches/beta1-test/subprojects/api/.project
   HTTP Path Not Found
svn: PROPFIND request failed on
'/repos/FIT/!svn/bc/8/branches/beta1-test/subprojects/api/.project'
svn: '/repos/FIT/!svn/bc/8/branches/beta1-test/subprojects/api/.project'
path not found

What does this error message mean? Especially the PROPFIND error?
Browsing the branch with a web-browser works fine without any errors.
Is it possible that this is an eclipse/subclipse related thing?

Thanks for any hints,
Reinhard
