Multiple repos using Apache VirtualHost?

Before I go down the path of building and installing apache 2.0 to test
this functionality (I am happily using svnserve now) I thought I should
find out if what I am trying to do works. Basically, I would like a
single server to serve multiple repositories. I can do this with
multiple svnserve's using non-standard ports but I want to stick to
completely standard ports. Basically, we will dns alias various
repository host names to the same phyiscal IP and my hope was to have a
svn configuration per VirtualHost in httpd.conf.

Anybody try this? Any idea if it will work?
