If you don't have Windows XP SP 1 installed, there is a known bug in the
Windows XP TCP stack. You can find it in the FAQ here:

Subject: malformed network data

Hello,

I am using Tortoise SVN on Windows XP:

TortoiseSVN 0.24.0, Build 554, UNICODE
Subversion 0.35.1, dev build
apr 0.9.5
apr-iconv 0.9.5
apr-utils 0.9.5
berkeley db 4.2.52
neon 0.24
OpenSSL 0.9.7c 30 Sep 2003
zlib 1.2.1

To connect to a Red hat 9 SVN server, instaled using:

subversion-server-0.35.1-8085.rh90.i386

When I try to do a checkout I am asked for a password. After the
password is entered, I receive a message saying:

"malformed network data"

Does anyone know what is causing this?

Thanks a lot,

Paul Robinson.
