SSO authentication and URL redirect processing

Hi,

Internally we discuss how to enable SSO for Subversion.
Currently we are using an external and commercial Identity Provider (=IdP).

Recently I have setup some applications at our company to use this Identity Provider for user authentication via SSO.
This was successful so far.

Now, we are thinking about connecting Subversion with our external provider.
For this I am using standard tool called Shibboleth as a so called service provider (SP).

Together with Apache, Shibboleth and the external provider I was able to perform user authentication.

However, the problem is that there occurs a lot of URL redirect from Apache & Shibboleth to IdP and back.
In addition browser shows a dialog sometimes that asks for userID and password.

Unfortunately TortoiseSVN does not like the redirect (and a dialog is not shown). It seems that Tortoise is not able to process this kind of system setup.
Does anyone have similar experiences?
Or are there any plans to implement such URL redirects with TortoiseSVN?

Kind regards
Tom
