We also have this issue. I can describe it like this:

The shell extension piece that provides the right click context menu items in windows explorer works just fine for every drive letter that I have in windows explorer, which includes both physical drives and mapped drives.

However the SVN status (Green Tick ...) icons that normally appear against folder icons only appear on local drive folders, and not on mapped network folders.
I need them to work because the icons facilitate improved productivity, and I'm used to having that.
