What do you expect to happen?

Nothing happens for me, regardless of where I double-click the row,
and in the context menu for the row none line is written in bold, so
there is no default action.

Double-clicking on Zipper.cs in the lower pane opens TortoiseDiff for
me and I do not observe any problems.

I am using 1.7.7 Build 22907 32-bit, on WinXP 32-bit

The same Log dialog, but now invoked from Repository Browser, instead
of wc, and different result...

It might be related to the following issue:
http://code.google.com/p/tortoisesvn/issues/detail?id=297

(a weird one, I should say).

Maybe clearing the log cache would help?
(Settings -> Log Caching / Cached Repositories -> select one, delete).

Try also to delete stale files from the "%TEMP%" folder.

You can type %TEMP% in the address bar of Explorer to open it.
You could also use "Clean up" wizard provided by Microsoft
(%SystemRoot%\system32\cleanmgr.exe). It should be among installed
programs.

Best regards,
