Although I understand Stefan descriptions as current design and implementation, I think the behaviour could be improved to make user's live a bit easier.
In fact if the file was deleted or added BETWEEN the 2 revisions (and not ON the first or last one), Tortoise complains with the pop-up mentioned in the first post.
But Tortoise KNOWS the file was created somewhere in the range of selected revision (or list of individual revisions selection) as it it shown on the log list. But it is NOT shown in the list of impacted files: the 'action' column is empty...
It would be very nice if Tortoise could look up the seelcted revisions, find the actions on the file and if one 'delete' or one 'add', show the diff with one empty side.
Of course, if several 'add'/'delete' occured, then the 'net result' is to be shown (one 'add', or one 'delete' or nothing but maybe 'modified')

Can we make this as a 'feature request'?
